Designer + Scenic Artist

Molly Cornell (she/her/hers) is a designer and scenic artist based in Chicago, IL. She is a recent graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Theatre and minors in Women/Gender Studies and Studio Art. Selected Loyola design credits include THE WOLVES, FUN HOME, RATS: A MUSICAL, FAILURE: A LOVE STORY, DOMESTIC: THREE WORKS BY WOMEN, 1984, and leading WE ARE THE HOPEFUL, a design exploration in the Underground Theatre. In addition to design work, she served as the lead or assistant scenic charge artist on over fifteen productions during the course of her undergraduate career. Chicago company credits include Urban Theatre Company, Akvavit Theatre, and Dream Big Productions as a Scenic Artist and Scenic Designer. Her plans after graduation are ever-changing with the pandemic, but plans to attend graduate school in a year for her MFA in scenic design. She is especially drawn to theatre about mental health, social justice, and gender/sexuality pieces for queer audiences.
